American Made Products Only Sold Here

By Mara Boone

People are slowly coming back to purchasing American made products only. It has taken a very long time and it was a long road but we are slowly starting to see some results from the various campaigns that were waged over the years. There are still some industries that are not showing a positive change but that just goes to show that the fight has not yet finished.

We need to change the stereotype that the cheaper foreign products are better constructed. They are mostly only cheaper because they are made for cheaper rates in those countries. In some cases the companies then take the extra funds and they can use better materials. In other cases they just reap all the profits and throw it into marketing.

By purchasing items made in the USA you are supporting the jobs that are so important back home. Our economy has been suffering for years now and is finally looking like it might be slowly coming back. If this truly is the case than the best thing that any of us can do is to help support this and make it even more so.

Purchasing items made elsewhere was giving people a way to keep more money in the bank because the US produced goods were often more pricey. As a result many of them remained on stores shelves. Manufacturers started to notice and they too looked for ways to save the money they were no longer making in sales. They found a way to do just that.

It has been preached for a very long time that buying home grown products will help the economy and it is true. The problem is that in some cases the other countries are making the items for a cheaper rate which allows them to charge less for them. By charging less they can sell more which in turn helps them make more and so on. The circle continues on and on again.

Their strategies have worked to get United States shoppers driving their vehicles and buying their items from our stores. Everything they purchase is from various other countries and to them that is just fine. Many of them see these products as better made than the ones from the US and they feel that the homemade ones are inferior.

Our cars are seen to be inferior to theirs. This might not be true in all cases but it does not have to be. All they need is one or two vehicles to hold up longer than an American made one and the public will take it from there. The media presents this as a winning strategy and the Japanese companies take that to heart.

It is just something that needs to continue no matter the setbacks. Buying American made products only is a great way to fix our economy and keep jobs growing at home. This is exactly what we need to get our economy back on track and get our people back to work. Once this starts happening and people see the results things will turn around. Once they do that we can get more and more items produced here in the United States.
