By Lila Barry

Many early childhood teachers love teaching young children and providing them with the tools they will need to excel in elementary school.

Early childhood teachers are concerned that people do not take the need for their services serious. These professional workers want everyone to recognize that a child need to learn the basic phonics before ever attending elementary school. Therefore their services are needed for each and every child.

Early education teachers believe that children who attend school early are able to communicate and interact with other children better when reaching elementary school. Children who have delays are often recognized during this time of schooling. These children can get the help that is needed early on.

There are some government funded programs that help low income families enroll their children in early childhood school. These families have to meet certain requirements by the state to be approved for enrollment for their child. These schools are very limited and sometimes require parents to put their child's name on a waiting list.

During the preschool years children are put in a classroom with other children their age. One of the requirements is that a child has reached 3 years old and has been potty trained. Children follow a daily schedule that consists of learning the alphabets, sounding out words, reading, writing and learning to use the computer. Children also work on social skills and working together with others in a group setting.

Parents who want to put their child in a preschool program need to start looking early. If you choose to put them in a privately owned school it is important to make sure that it is a least a four or five star school. These schools have been ranked the best and have highly trained staff members to work with their students.

Most schools go by tight guidelines when it comes to school hours. The schedule usually is the same as the public school system. However, there are some private operated preschools that do not operate on the same schedule as the public schools. You will have to check with the schools director to find out their rules and regulations regarding attendance procedures.
