Catholic Schools And Fundraising Events

By Karina Andrews

Sometimes it is a little difficult to think of a good fundraising event. The results of the fundraiser have much to do with whether or not the event is enjoyable. Ideally you want to be able to grab the interest of the students, their parents, and others that they know. Generally speaking, the ideas that can be used for a fundraiser at catholic schools sydney are much the same as those used for other organizations. There is the odd exception, of course.

Only those that are actually connected to the school in some way are likely to be interested in the fundraising event. The current students, their parents, as well as past students, are all important aspects as far as the event is concerned. Those who are not associated with the school aren't inclined to want to donate. While it is a good idea to try to entice outside donations, it is important that whatever ideas and activities are planned, they should not conflict with Catholic beliefs.

Sales are always great to raise funds and they are versatile. These include bake sales and even auctions. Furthermore, the organizers can also collaborate with other institutions that will also benefit. Since religious beliefs play no part in this, these kinds of events are generally successful.

Fairs are also a great sales variation for a fundraiser. This is an idea that will entice people not connected with the school. In fact, this is an idea that organizers can really take further if they're inclined to. A book fair can be planned, with people invited to donate their old and unwanted books. If the organizers are so inclined, they can also contact book sellers, or even publishers, and invite them to provide their books for sale at the event. This will provide them with exposure and sales that they might not necessarily have enjoyed, and so a small fee could be levied for the privilege. The school will enjoy more funds this way.

The majority of catholic schools choose fundraising events as a way of generating donations and funds. In most instances they're popular with the kids. Other great fundraising ideas include dances and parties. The students can pay a nominal entrance fee in order to attend the party or dance. The kids should be encouraged to invite their friends and family to attend the dance or party as well, so as to increase the funds. Additional items can be on sale during the event to help generate even more funds.

Dinners and concerts are a great idea when you wish to target mainly the parents of the students, or past students of the school. An entrance fee should be charged.

When ideas just aren't forthcoming, organizers can solicit help from the student body. Let them vote for the kinds of events that they would like to attend or be a part of.
