Christian Education Helps Shape a Child Future

By Augustine Ty

In the world where there are so many chaoses, Christianity is given importance, especially in school where children have their education. It is believe that through Christianity the community will have its peace and harmony. Teens that have Christian studies are safe from illegal activities such as drugs, smoking, drinking, and other wrong acts that is why Christian education is important in schools. Good characters are also seen in a student who has Christian values education.

To maintain the impact of Christian schools to its students, here are essential things that will help maintain and improve a teaching ministry.

Balancing Class - As a Christian education institution, it does not mean that you will purely teach Christianity lessons to your students. Parents send their children to school to learn not just the moral lessons of Christianity but all things that can help the children in its daily life and this include learning how to read, communicate, understand, deal with mathematical problems and exploring other things.

Annual Evaluation - This is an evaluation in the sense that faculty and staff will undergo self-check. Teachers must assess on how they deal with their students and the lessons they are teaching to the children. The school community does not just consist of teachers and students; there are also the staffs where children interact. Evaluate how the staffs communicate to students, are they doing it right or can they do something better for the goodness of the students.

Prefer Morally Good Topics - Each school has its own set of topics to be use by the teachers but as a teacher, there are instances when you need to get other ideas to relate on a certain topic for the students for them to understand more. Choose subtopics that will connect to Christian education. Through this, you are hitting two birds with one stone.

Be Accountable - Children will always be children. They play around and sometimes do things that are wrong, and if they do make sure you will not punish nor get mad. Be accountable of the actions taken by your students for they are just wondering and curious. Explain to them why they are wrong and what the consequences of their actions are. You can give them penalties not to discipline them but to remind them not to do it again.

Encourage Discipleship - Discipleship comes from the word disciples, the follower of God. Teacher should always impart to students discipleship, meaning following the works of God and doing things in God's way.
