Patients with mental disorders are unfortunately misjudged. This is mainly because the majorities of issues have very little or no physical symptoms. Anxiety in specific is a complex condition that is quite common. Patients suffering from the disorder will consistently feel nervous or stressed. If the concern is not dealt with, it could take a toll on just about every area of your life. Below are a few telltale signs that you are in grave need of anxiety counseling.

Anxiety concerns manifest themselves in different ways. For that reason these issues are classified into different categories. There is (OCD) obsessive-compulsive disorder, (PTSD) post-traumatic stress disorder, generalized anxiety and phobias. Patients that suffer from general anxiety are also known to lack sleep and get panic attacks.

Panic attacks can last for as long as half an hour. During this time, the patient will go into an episode of extreme fear and may also get nauseated and feel dizzy. Other symptoms that may present themselves include hyperventilation, hot flashes, chills, an increased heart rate, and a strong feeling of being in danger or being at risk of dying. Panic attacks are sometimes triggered by certain environments for reasons that are not clear.

Apprehension concerns can affect the body if they are overlooked for long. With this, a patient could suffer from nausea or indigestion. Apart from frequent stomach upsets, patients could also suffer from (IBS) irritable bowel syndrome, diarrhea, gas and cramping. These symptoms coupled with extreme apprehension are bound to make things to seem worse than they actually are.

Anxiety can hold you back from the good things in life. Normal life is not always a walk in the park, though patients will deliberately stay away from stressful situations. This ultimately leaves them at a loss of a good social life and their work or studies could also be affected. Ideally, they will dodge anything that could draw positive or even negative attention towards them. When this becomes a habit, then just about every area of their lives is affected.

It is also normal for those suffering from apprehension disorders to over-think. They will be unable to take their minds off major problems and even the small stuff. This often results to their sleeping patterns being affected and sleeplessness worsens their mental health and even affects their physical well-being.

Life is miserable when one lacks inner peace and is constantly unhappy. Fortunately a counselor that is trained, experienced and proficient could make all the positive difference in how you feel.
