The National Council Licensure Examination or NCLEX has only one purpose. This purpose is to determine if you are safe in beginning your practice for an entry level nurse. This type is very different from the exams you have taken in school. Exams in school usually are knowledge based, but in NCLEX, it will test you on how well can you apply and analyze the scenarios based on what you are being taught. You will be tested when it comes to your thinking skills on nursing judgments.

This is the start of your career to become a nurse. It serves as a final obstacle for your your future nursing career. You need to find a way in order to conquer this. So this NCLEX review tips will surely help you in preparing for the said exam.

First, critical thinking and memorization is the first thing to be focused. These two are very necessary for you to pass. Choose that one, best answer. Normal lab values, drug side effects, and disease symptoms are usually part of the memorizations.

Second is do not cram for the exam. After graduating for a nursing program for four years, and if studying for the last and final exams seems to kill you, think again if ever you are considering to do it again and cram for the NCLEX. You should try to focus on the areas that you found very difficult when you are still a student, instead of focusing on the detailed part of every topic you have learned.

Third, research on the exam backgrounds. Research on websites and check information on the exam itself. A CAT or computerized adaptive testing method is being used by NCLEX to reestimate your ability in answering each item, in which is based on those previous questions. Each examinee has different sequence of questions.

Fourth is you should take a lot of practice tests. You must be able to experience test like situations for you will be prepared through this. Some questions may trick you which will make you think more. By practicing, you can be able to have more focus on the root of the situation and avoid distractions like irrelevant information.

Fifth is come prepared. You should arrive at the location thirty minutes before the exam time. You must dress appropriately and bring any ID that is acceptable like the drivers license. You should expect to leave your bags and gadgets outside the room. Sixth is you should visualize every scenario. Visualize each scenario and try to think on the things that you will need to do based on your learnings.

Seventh, delete in your mind immediately those wrong answers. Think of the choices as either true or false. Choices that you think are really false, erase immediately and compare the answers that are left and think of which is true. But always remember that some answers may let you think that it is the right one but when actually it is not.

The eighth and last is keep your cool. You should never freak out. Always keep your mind relaxed and remind yourself to keep calm. So these are just some helpful tips. And now you are one step closer to your career.
