How To Choose NCLEX California Class

By Gregory Hill

Should you be a nurse, nursing student, or a new nursing graduate, then you will know what NCLEX is. NCLEX stands for the National Council Licensure Examination that many nurses will take to ensure registered status in the United States. Thus, if you want to successfully pass this exam, then you need to review for it effectively and properly. Many offer review classes to supposedly assist you, like some NCLEX California review classes out there.

Before you just pick any review class offered out there, and there are plenty, then you need to prepare a short checklist to guide you in your choice. Lacking this, you will be open to any haphazard decision or choice that you may regret later on. This article will cover what you will include in this checklist so you will only take into account what is the right information to process rather than haphazardly choosing.

First of all try to find some friends who have passed the NCLEX with the help of a review service. Ask them how they found the service quality and if they would recommend it for your needs. If you do not have this kind of information, then the next best thing will be to go on the internet and do some research for your own needs.

Once you find a few services for reviews on the internet, take note of their experience, their staff capability and also their success rate. Apart from this take note of their contact numbers and details so that you can call them and ask a few questions. Once you do get in touch with them do ask them a few questions about their methods.

When contacting them do ask about the overall comprehensiveness of their review content, and how they help you in preparing for dreaded examination questions. Dreaded questions fall under the SATA category or the Select All That Apply type questions. Inquire into how they focus on critical nursing concepts and how you are made to prepare for this.

Also do ask about how they train your critical thinking skills for you to pass high level analysis type questions, like those exhibited by Prioritization and Delegation questions. Do ask what kind of educational strategies they will use so that you will be best prepared for this section on the examination when the time comes.

Also inquire if they have individualized assessments. These individualized assessments will ensure that you have a chance of passing or not in the early stages of your review. Ask how they do this and how often. A rule of thumb is the more they do it the better it is for you.

In sum these are the main factors you should be considering when choosing a review center or review service. It is important to know about pricing and scheduling of course also, but apart from these, do consider what has been discussed in this article so you can get more bang for your buck and not make it a losing investment.
