Exposure By Reading Police Corruption Books

By Ines Flores

Corruption is a term all so common to many countries. This is ranging from all the many sectors of the country. The security sector has not been left out in engaging in this vice. You may not know how citizens corrupt their officers. There are materials however that you could read and be able to understand better the type of personnel these officers are. One of such document is the police corruption books.

If you have not had an access to these materials, you may be wondering how these officers participate in this vice. One of the places where this vice is rampantly practiced is on the roads. Many countries have continued experiencing high numbers of road carnage. This is despite having so many officers along the roads. What goes on is that the officer will accept a bribe and let go off a vehicle that poses danger to the passengers.

Public transport drivers pay the officers so that they can carry excessive passengers without being arrested. They also violate other traffic rules such as over spending and operating with unworthy vehicles on the road. Once they get to a patrol check, they give tips to the officers who allow them to continue with their journey at the expense of the passengers and pedestrians.

The other issue comes with the state of the vehicle. It is a bit obvious that vehicles that are not roadworthy will most definitely cause an accident. It is this fact that the officers overlook at the cost of the bribe they are given. They leave such a vehicle to pass only for it to cause very fatal accidents afterwards.

This vice has not only affected the junior officers but also the high ranking ones. Most of them are bribed to jeopardize cases especially those involving high profile people in the society such as politicians. They interfere with investigations and many cases end up being abandoned without the culprits facing the law or the victims getting justice.

In some parts of the world, most of the robbery instances have the invisible hands of these officers in them. In fact, some officers lender their guns to the gangsters and other criminals to committing crime and pay them afterwards. Moreover, the officers could also make deals with these criminals and provide them with their uniforms to carry out criminal activities somewhere in the name of security officers.

Reading these materials opens your eyes on the many different ways the officers get involved in corrupt ways. Recruitment of these officers is another way marred by dishonesty. Senior officers will seek promotions and hiring of junior officers not through merit but through nepotism. Some relatives and friends end up being in high positions even if they were not qualified.

Politicians use these officers to carry out their intentions. They will incite the public to commit crimes instead of protecting and safeguarding them. This results to the citizens suffering at the cost of politicians funding these officers to help them grow politically.
