By Kristen Baird

It is the duty of a student to study. However, you should not expect them to do well at all times just because they study. There are even those who, despite working hard at their studies, are not able to achieve good results. In this case, the parents might want to avail of study services like 11 plus tuition for the sake of their child.

For the parents that want their students to go to this service, there are several things that they have to keep in mind. These are the tips that should allow not only the students but them as well to get a positive result out of this service they have availed. Here are those tips that parents, as well as students, should remember.

First, overloading is a term that you should fear. You should never make your child study so hard that they do not even take a little break. Give them a break in between studies, even if they are just five-minute breaks. The small breaks they have in studying will actually help stimulate their mental health even more.

Do not be angry when the child gets distracted easily. Typically, a child's attention span just ranges between thirty minutes to fifty minutes. In this case, you just have to patiently build up the child's attention span. You have to do your best to increase the child's attention span gradually. You can follow a process for this.

Organize the things that you will teach the child. If you want to organize stuff better, then it is better to create a detailed fridge list. The said fridge list should contain those topics within the subjects the child has difficulties with that you must cover. With this, it should be easy for you to go about the topics while teaching the child.

Revising is highly suggested. In fact, revising must be done with the aid of the parents. More than that, revising should be done in new locations every now and then since this can help with the mental growth of the child. New places can be a new spot at home or even just the nearest local library in your area.

Active revision should not be a problem for you. In the active revision, you will be making use of the test questions that appeared in past examinations. It may be of the examination last year or the year before. Do not forget to simulate the same exam conditions with that of the real examination to get the most out of this active revision.

Make a visual aid for the child. Visual aids help with learning, after all. There are lots of visual aids that you can make for the sake of simulating the memory and mental strength of the child. A perfect example of the visual aid that you can provide for the child is the spider map. Other graphs will do too.

Mnemonics can be good too. Through the mnemonics, the child can actually remember various information easily. You can use mnemonics in the form of abbreviations, phrases, and words. Personalize it so that the child can remember them better.
