Nowadays, there are so many people who would want to learn Mandarin because China has become one of the superpowers in the world today. Now there are a lot of institutions that would teach this language in America, especially in Los Angeles CA. Now if one is interested to learn mandarin in los angeles, then here are some of the basics of this language that one would actually be learning.

Now when one would learn to speak this language, he actually has to perfect the basic concepts first because all the lessons would be interrelated to each other. Then first lesson that one will be learning would be the four basic tones of the Chinese language. Now these tones are very important simply because they will form the foundation of the pronunciation of the words of this language.

Now these intonations are extremely important to the language because these would determine the definition of the word. For example, if one would pronounce a word, he has to use a specific tone for it . If he uses another tone by accident, then he will actually say a different word from what he originally meant.

Now the very first one that beginners would learn would be the neutral sound. Now the neutral sound is used when pronouncing a word that has to be pronounced in a monotone voice and for a few seconds. Now this is represented by a straight line because one will be pronouncing the tone with the movement of a straight line.

The second tone would be the rising one wherein one will raise his voice a little bit in order to pronounce it. Now if one will say a word that uses this one, he will actually be saying it with a high note. This is represented by a line that goes north east as it shows that people should say it with a high voice.

The very next one will be the fall and rising sound wherein one will actually sound like he is singing. He will sound like he is singing because he will first be saying the tone with a low voice which would then transit to a high note. This sound would be represented by a check mark because the lines that make up the check mark would be how one should pronounce this tone.

The last of these would be the fall tone which would symbolize a strong sound. Now there are times when one is going to sound like he is angry because he will have to pronounce it in a strong way. Now the representation of this is the line that is going down.

So when learning mandarin, these four tones have to be perfected before one can be able to form sentences. These four tones are probably the four most important things to learn because these tones would be the basis for pronunciation. If one would pronounce a word with the wrong tone, he will be saying another word.
