Transportation Methods Used By Bulk Portable Cement Suppliers

By Joshua White

Among the many products involved in the dry bulk trade, cement is one that is considered to be very difficult to transport if ordered in huge quantities. This gets especially hard knowing that the only available medium to transfer this material is by a conventional carrier. Because of this, bulk portable cement suppliers Tampa Fl, among others, resort to using specialized trailers for a safe and easy transportation.

There are several common ways on how to transport cement in bulk. The most used one is packaging it through bags. It is commonly used for small to medium scale projects and in sites where there is no specific mixing stations and proper storage facilities.

There is another type of bag that is used, but this time it could actually contain more than a thousand kilograms of cement and other powder material. These are basically being supported by using forklifts or cranes. This specific medium is somehow not really used for it is found to be not ideal for any cement needs or requirements.

The most common of all is by using a cement trailer vehicle that could carry greater than one hundred tons of powdered products. This type of container is typically used by large companies when shipping cement. There are different types of concrete trucks that are usually used they are rough terrain, standard transit and volumetric concrete truck.

These trailers are huge and are securely sealed containers. They are designed in this manner to ensure that the products that will be transported are safe and in good hands. The consequences would include additional expenses and several opportunity costs if the transfer procedure is not done correctly.

Once it arrives at the site, the material gets pumped through the pipes using compressed air for it to be placed into a silo or any storage facility. This manner provides convenience to the contractors since this process would require minimal human labor. For big projects that require a very huge amount cement, this would be best suitable since it is very sealed and guarantees that it will not leak.

If it is not going to be used for cement transportation, then it could also be used to transfer other powder material such as lime powder, sugar, flour, chemical powders and minerals and so much more. It would be much easier to work especially during the unloading and loading steps. Compared to the other traditional ways which would actually take up so much time and resources, including labor.

With trailers, you can also be assured that the product that you needed and desired will still be as what it was even after the delivery process. Trailers are comprised of a sealed vacuum space wherein no amount of air can get in and may ruin your product. It retains the quality of the powder material just as when it was still in the manufacturing factory.

Make sure to identify first the amount of material and products you will need for the job that you are currently working on. This is important so that costs will be mitigated, and so is your time. Then you can decide which kind of carrier you will use.
