Attributes Of Motivational Speaker Connecticut

By Angela Stewart

Public speaking can be quite terrifying. Standing in front of people to deliver a speech or any message for that matter is not easy for everybody. Many people get anxious or shy when standing in front of a crowd and are even unable to speak. A person who would want to share their ideas with others should find a method to get their voice out. This is where qualities of a good motivational speaker Connecticut come in.

First and foremost, one must be confident. An orator who is confident is viewed as likable, believable, intelligent and even competent. When it comes to matters of public speaking, confidence is the main quality to have. Confidence immediately captures the attention of all those you are addressing.

Secondly, speakers provide knowledge to their audience. They have enough experience in the field of public speaking and contribute a lot of insight on the topic they are called to speak on. This is because they have done a lot of research over the years on a variety of topics and problems facing different people.

These rhetoricians give new perspectives to their listeners. Most people are resistant to changes in their life and some do not react very well to change. The speakers act as neutral parties and provide new and different ways to look at situations so they do not seem all that bad and even provide positive ways to cope with these changes.

A good speaker must be blunt and straight to the point. Do not use many words to explain a simple thing. The words in your speech should be easy to be understood by your audience. This will prevent the listeners from getting lost and failing to understand what point you are trying to put across.

Liveliness is another key quality of a good public orator. An audience likes to listen to speakers who are fun and lively. You must have a good sense of humor and wear friendly face. Make a joke or two as you deliver your message and even engage your audience. This prevents boredom and encourages concentration.

Great public speaking requires one to be repetitive. This is an important quality because, through repetition, all important points are highlighted and retained in the minds of the listeners. In order to use repetition, you as the speaker need to know what key points you want your listeners to go home with. An orator must always look their audience in their eyes as he or she speaks.

In summary, giving a motivational speech to an audience requires you to deliver it in a way that you feel connected to your audience. You must have done thorough research on what you are speaking about and deliver it confidently and without beating around the bush. You must use appropriate facial expressions, good language and vocabulary, proper body language and never forget to involve your audience as you deliver your speech.
