In the professional work of any person, there are certain drives that personally enable one to push forward and be productive. Such are also the ones that one in their general life can never compromise and will never give up. One may be faced with various difficulties but they stick to such elements. It is always recommended that one learns their own elements early on in the career journey to know where best to align. The following are the categories of a career anchor.

Technical expertise. The functional competence that one has is very important and useful in the kinds of tasks that they are engaged in. This mainly involves one having a certain talent and motivation to tackle a specific task. One will always get pleasure in exercising their talent and as such can do it without any pressure. An individual with such competencies will always develop to be a great professional as they enhance their skills.

Competencies of management. This category of anchors is essential and mainly involves the people who aspire towards managing others. The various aspirations that they have ought to be those which enable them to have leadership positions in the organizations they might be employed in. They in such a manner ought to have analytical capabilities, interpersonal skills, and emotional capabilities. They will rise up to be managers and work towards that in any job.

Freedom competence. This is one important anchor that has to be checked for and it mainly regards the various individuals who desire to be independent. They view their life as a journey on their own and hence always prefer the careers where they rarely get controlled. They go for jobs that they can easily drive and manage themselves with minimal interruptions from the managers. They desire to be freed and hence avoid to be controlled by organizations.

Stability. This is another crucial anchor and one has to verify its presence. In many careers, people always feel the need to have security but for such individuals, it is their main drive. They search for opportunities that will accord them with safety in totality with regards to their life goals. They value predictability of careers and hence search for those that offer great plans and loyalties.

Creativity. This mindset refers to those individuals that lean more towards entrepreneurship in their lives and professions. They feel the huge need to tackle and topple any existing systems by having their own systems established to replace them. They, therefore, measure the success that they have on the amount of revenue that their ventures can generate.

The sense of service. This category mainly comprises of the individuals that are mainly engaged in promoting certain values even within organizations. Their work is as such based on them enhancing the values that they are endeared to in the society than on any particular talent.

Pure challenge. This comprises of mainly the individuals that love conquering people and all the obstacles that face them. There are also those who are lifestyle-oriented that organize their existences around some form of lifestyle.
