It is common knowledge that the original people of America were the Native Americans. Of course as the British Pilgrims began to discover new lands, they were able to take over America and claimed the land from the Native Americans who once ruled the place. Of course even if most of the tribes were wiped off, there are a few surviving ones with the famous Cheyenne Arapaho Tribes as the biggest.
Now this group is a united group of two Native American tribes that are well known in the entire country. This group is made out of the Cheyenne tribe and the Arapaho tribe and is located in Oklahoma. This group is made out of more than ten thousand members and are federally recognized in the entire country.
Of course before delving into what this group is about, it will be better to know about the two tribes this group consists of. The first one would be the Arapaho people who originated in Wyoming and also settled in Colorado. Now what makes this tribe quite famous is that they have grabbed a big share of market in both the gaming and tobacco industries.
Now the second one would be the Cheyenne people who are not as big time as the first one but equally powerful. Now basically, they originated from the land that is known as Minnesota today and are called the indigenous people of the Great White Plains. Now although the two groups were allies before, they were separate from each other. It was only in the year 1937 that they united together to form their own fused government.
Now one very interesting thing to know about this group is that because of the unison, there have been developments in their land, their education systems, and the businesses that they have put up. In fact, they are actually quite big in the gaming industry as they own four casinos and three tobacco shops. The casinos that they were able to put up are the Lucky Star Clinton, Lucky Star Concho, Feather Warrior Watonga, and Feather Warrior Canton.
Now what makes them a little bit unique is their love for the preservation of their culture. Because of this, they are known to have their own tv stations which would only broadcast channels related to the American Indian lifestyle. They even have their own newspaper that would show both local and international news.
Now as for their education, they have their own college in partnership with the Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Some of the programs they would offer are tribal management and American Indian studies. Now this school is managed by Dr. Henrietta Mann and is located in Weatherford.
So as one can see, the union of these two tribes have definitely made them a strong group that can lead their own government. They were able to develop their group by increasing their revenues by putting up businesses, spreading and preserving their culture through media, and of course providing quality education to their people. They are definitely a very efficient group of people.
