This is how American director based in Singapore Tony Kern pursue his passion. Now only is he an accomplished motion picture artist, he is a screen writer, as well as a film producer too.
Kern was born in 1969. He went to Gibsonburg High School. This was in Ohio. He also graduated from Bowling Green State University. He was also able to work for AOL-Time Warner as an editor and a producer, this was for the years 2003 until 2005. Afterward, then set up his very own company in partnership with Genevieve Woo, a notable Singaporean television presenter. His firm was named Mythopolis Pictures. Later own, he successfully established TK Time Lapse, a company dedicated to time-lapse footage.
The first film that he directed was released in August 2008. Called A Month of Hungry Ghosts, it was able to earn the Best Film Nomination. This was entered for the Singapore Film Awards at the 22nd Singapore International Film Festival. Later in 2011, he released the second film, Afterimages, co-produced by Genevieve Woo. This horror film was a compendium of five shorts.
The film Afterimages actually was supported with the help of crowd sourcing and crowd funding. Then, it received funding from Media Development Authority through their production assistance grant. It was in 2012 that the film's script secured the Network of Asian Fantastic Films award. This was a competition that was held in Busan, in South, Korea.
