Give Mom A Special Gift For Mother's Day

By Mellissa Rummage

Mother's Day is a time to honor Mom for all of her love and hard work. So be sure to choose a gift that is sure to please. You can choose a traditional gift or find something that will suit your mom's special personality.

You can never go wrong with a huge bouquet of flowers and online florists offer a myriad of great choices for Mother's Day. You can choose a large assortment of flowers or select specific blooms or colors that your mom prefers. Be sure to add on a vase to make it quick and easy for her to display your gift.

Most florists also offer live plants, as well, and this is another great idea. Not only are they beautiful, but they also will last many months or even years. You can opt for a potted plant or perhaps a basket with a mix of flowers and plants. You can choose from anything from azaleas to bamboo plants, whatever you think Mom will enjoy.

A gift basket is yet another option to consider. Perhaps Mom is a chocolate-lover, so you could send a basket full of sweet treats. If she loves tea, send a basket that includes gourmet teas, biscuits and a little tea pot. There are baskets for just about every taste, from fresh fruit to wine and cheese baskets.

Gifts that include photography are always a special treat. You can go online and create a personalized calendar filled with pictures of kids, grandchildren, pets, family, friends and other special memories. Another idea is to make a photo book where each child or grandchild writes a special message as well as featuring photos of these special people.

Buying a gift that complements your mother's hobbies or talents is another idea. For example, if she loves to read, consider buying a book reader and a gift card so she can load up with books. If she loves sewing, fill a basket with all sorts of handy sewing items and idea books.

In lieu of an actual gift, you can plan a day of events for Mother's Day. Start things off with a relaxing champagne breakfast then chauffer Mom to the spa where she will enjoy a manicure, pedicure and massage. From there, perhaps take her to her favorite sunset spot for a glass or wine and then enjoy a dinner at home or at her favorite restaurant.
