Understanding Your Mission for Success in Business

By Vito La Fata

What are you working towards in your fitness business? Would you like to rewrite the future of the fitness profession? It is important to know what your mission and vision is. And it is also helpful to know what might be holding you back from accomplishing that vision. In order to accomplish your vision, it is good to have it and your goals clearly defined.

To reach your vision in your business, it is smart to attempt to move to a place beyond that zone that you are the most comfortable in. Usually people do not change unless they get to a place where they are pushing themselves into discomfort. Even though it is unpleasant for a while, it will soon pay off.

So often we forget about our "other roles" of spouses, friends, brothers and sisters that we let those goals slip through the cracks. Take some inventory on the roles you find yourself in and write on those and where you could use some lifting up, and share the life roles with other positive people who are filling the world with good energy and fun!

The mission in life and business isn't to just chase "to do lists," but it's to chase significance and to not just get stuff done, but to move towards our dreams. Where the speed bumps come into play is when you don't own your agenda or when you don't aim your productivity towards something. Do you actually know what outcome you are looking for in your business? Is it just to make a profit? Or is it to leave an impact?

Setting deadlines is a great way to make more of your dreams and visions become a reality. If you do not set a deadline, it is hard to make things happen because you will find that it is so easy to put things off. Give yourself rewards for reaching your deadlines and also give yourself unpleasant consequences for missing them!

If you are going to be successful, it is crucial that you be a go getter. Other people may tend to procrastinate and put things off. But you need to hold yourself accountable and use the pressure of your mission and your deadlines to keep you on track.
