They need someone who can tell them what they need to do.
As they are about to start their play, he must first introduce them to the things which are crucially need to achieve. And this would start through introducing them to the script, and letting them familiarize. This is very important because they need to know what they must do in the following steps.
Next step is with the design and the props that are very much needed in the stage. The reason for this is to make the stage be set up and be very beautiful in the eyes of the people who are watching the drama.
But being a good director does not only include being there to rant things that your people must do, but he must also be a good listener. Someone who could guarantee that he will be willing to listen to the advice of the others. Because there may be some suggestion that could be helpful to the success they are wanting to achieve.
For me, one of the hardest things that a person could do is being a leader. Because when you play this role, especially in an organization you have to do whatever it takes to get the success that is your goal. And if ever it gets failed, then you are the one who will be blamed. When it comes to being a play director you must do everything whatever it takes you so that success would be achieved.
