I certainly do. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who was crucified and who is risen and ascended now lives forever and can be close to those who call upon Him. Over these past weeks and months, I have taken time to read and study parts of the book of Revelation, and I have not completed that study yet.
It is Psalm 24 where we have the question, who is the Lord of glory, and the answers in the Psalm spell it all out, and they are reconfirmed in Revelation. At the right moment, God will act, and there will be no delay. Read Chapter 10 and read the context of the preparation for the coming again of Jesus Christ back to this world sort things out and to restore what was wrong.
Why did he speak with such confidence? He spoke because he deeply believed it had come from the author of truth-God Himself. Marking is a term that indicates surety. In other words, we are sure, confident and know without a doubt that God has spoken. When we mark what God has said it leaves no doubt in the mind of the receiver of the prophetic word spoken by God. The prophet, Jeremiah, affirms the "marking" principle in the following passage.
In these final moments of time, do you know what God is going to do? Revelation tells us! God is going to raise up preachers, and preachers who will be prophetic. He will have a band of prophetic preachers or a community of prophets. Prophets do not just teach the Word and expound the Scriptures, but they give a direct word from God.
One helpful insight and accurate definition regarding prophecy is - "the ability granted by the Holy Spirit to a believer to speak forth words which proceed from God that does come from the believer's wisdom, understanding or education." Sometimes what God reveals is for sharing immediately. Occasionally, the prophet may have to wait patiently for weeks or months and remain quiet, keeping that word in his heart until the correct moment.
What happens in one of these sessions with God? First, you connect and relate to your Creator. God desires a relationship with His people, but we are to make a concerted effort to meet with Him during our prayer times. His presence is addictive, once we make it in we experience dimensions of Him that are all too wonderful, and naturally, we are inclined to want more of Him.
The word can be so sweet, and yet some grim consequences can be seen. What God is wanting is a prophetic people, who will speak out God's word, and live out God's word. As you eat this book, this will happen in your life. Now, the prophets were never very popular. Jesus reminds us that the religious people stoned the prophets.
