Actually, three years from the time the child was born is a period that plays an important role in the life of a child. The main reason is that brain development and maturity starts at this age. The kid also learns how to speak at this age. Therefore speech and language skills for children will develop properly when the child will be exposed to sight, sound and consistent exposure to speech and language from other people. If a child will pass this stage without getting proper exposure to the language, learning will become a problem.

The child will pass various milestones and stages when developing the language or speech. The baby will have its first communication made through crying. The baby will learn that crying brings comfort, food, and companion. The infants will also be able to recognize certain sounds and voices more so the voices of their primary or immediate caretakers and those of their mothers.

However, the development of communication skills usually varies in children. Kids usually follow a natural timetable or progression to master languages. Through milestone checklist, health professionals and doctors can determine whether a child is progressing well or require extra help. The delay in communication kids may arise due to hearing loss or a disorder.

There are various activities that can be done to develop communication skills for your child. One this you can do is to be a good model for the kid. This will involve speaking clearly and slowly while facing your child. Whenever, a child says a sentence or a word incorrectly, you should repeat the words correctly to show you understand instead of telling the child to repeat it.

Actually, there are certain things you can do in order to improve the development of communication skills on a child. Becoming a role model for the baby is the first step you can take. This means you have to speak slowly and always face the kid. In the case where the child pronounces a word wrongly, repeat that word to him or her using the correct pronunciation so that a child can understand. Make the kid to repeat that word until the right pronunciation is reached.

Another thing you need to do is to spell and pronounce correctly the words and sentences that the child has misspelled. You also need to have time to spend with your child. Basically, when you have more time to sit with the child, the more beneficial it becomes. Therefore it is important to have some time set for the child within a day. You also need to have these sessions in distraction free areas.

It is also important to observe and comment when with your child. Whenever playing with the kid, keep commenting on what the child is doing. This will help the child to learn new vocabulary. Actually, you should always break the silence. On the other hand, let the child be the boss and lead the play. This helps to build self-confidence.

Comments and observations when playing with the kid are important. Making comments whenever you are playing will make the child learn new ideas and vocabularies. It will also encourage him which will help in self-confidence building. This will be facilitated by making the kid the leader in the game. Naming objects while pointing them will assist a lot in learning.
