Facts About Drains And Importance Of A Drain Cleaner

By Diane Harris

For a place to develop well there must be good drain facilities. This pipe system starts from the normal ones at our houses to the major systems that serve cities and the country as a whole. With passage of time they tend to block or have various issues which prevent them from functioning at their full capacity. There is need to know facts about this drains and the roles of a drain cleaner.

A pipe system can be made to cater for waste water two different sources. This includes grey water which can come from kitchen sinks and household chores involving water. The other part is black water which emanates from sewer pipes and washroom water. Both this pipe system is faced with a probability of blocking which should be considered due to the dangerous aftermath it faces.

Drains are divided into two categories. The first one is the open piping system which is very cheap to make and takes little time. It is faced with a major limitation making people to consider it after the closed system. This is the openness of the system makes the surrounding people use it like a garbage pit. This makes it require daily cleaning so as to function optimally.

If the community around is responsible the unnecessary blocking might be reduced to a certain extent. In some situation the open system is not voluntarily decided by the stakeholders but forced by the current ground situation. This can be due to grade insufficiency and the presence of a rocky sub surface that might make deep excavation expensive.

There are also many types of closed pipes mainly based on material or method of installation. The pipes can be concrete or poly vinyl chloride and they can also be precast or casted on site. There is a new technology that allows casting of the drains using pneumatic tubes. This makes the installation process cheap. There are important components that are installed in this drainage system.

These are the man holes. They have very many purposes in a drainage system. One of these purposes is for direction changing. The presence of this during such an occurrence avoids sharp corners which enhance dirt accumulation leading to obstacle cases. It is also provided where two connecting pipes are at different slopes. Here it also reduces the accumulation of silt.

The cleaners are conversant with the chamber because it is the point that allows them to access to both sides of a pipe. A chamber is installed after every ten meters. It is built to allow for movement and working of the worker. The expert first removes the silt that has accumulated in the chamber then inserts some spoon devices so as to unclog the pipes and allow flow.

In the aspect of a house there are normally junctions which can be removed for unclogging purposes. They also give the clients professional advice on whether the pipe requires an overhaul or minor patches can make it functional. There are new developments which are placed to reduce this clogging problem. They are placed in the sinks so as to help with mincing the solids passing through to small pieces which cannot block the drain.
