How To Make Spanish Lesson Plans

By Claudine Hodges

If one is going to teach a spanish class, then he has to come into class prepared with a lesson plan. Now spanish lesson plans are very important because it gives the teacher a guide on how to go about. So if one is a first timer and does not really know where to start, here is a guide on how to make a very basic plan for teaching the Spanish language.

Now a basic plan should contain first all of the lessons that the teacher would want to teach per subject. Of course in the first few days of the class, the teacher will first be teaching an overview or an introduction of studying the language. The students will review about how use the alphabet in speaking this language.

So just like in any language, the first step would be to first get the letters and mix them in order to make some words. However, before one can do this, he has to first learn how to pronounce each syllable before he can turn them into a word. So the second part of the plan would be to make some activities to get the students to pronounce the syllables better.

Of course after one has learned to pronounce the syllables, the next thing to do would be to form words. Once one has already learned to form words, then he will learn all the different words in Spanish. During this stage, it is very important that the teacher would teach the student more and more words in order to increase his vocabulary.

Now after that, the next part of the curriculum would be about the basics of making a sentence. Now to start off, the teacher would first teach the parts of the sentence beginning with the nouns. Now the teacher may also include teaching about pronouns as well because nouns and pronouns are often used simultaneously anyway as to be able to maximize time.

Of course the next thing that should be taught would be the verbs along with the adjectives and the adverbs. These are all parts of a sentence and are very crucial in learning the language. So basically, learning about the nouns, pronouns, adjectives, verbs, and adverbs would allow the students to be able to know how to form a sentence.

Of course he will also be teaching the students all the basic grammar rules and also learn how to put more than one sentence together in order to form a paragraph or two. Now the teacher will also be coming up with some activities that would help the students be able to converse in basic spanish. The only way for a student to be able to learn how to speak a language would be to keep on practicing until he gets better.

So basically, those are the minimum things that one should put in a basic lesson plan. Now the main goal of a teacher would be to teach students to speak the language. Of course the teacher would also need to come up with a concrete plan so that his lessons will have flow and coherence.
