Lean Six Sigma Training For Managers

By Krystal Branch

In the world of business, the goal of every company should be providing the best quality services and products for the customers or clients of the business. It is for this reason that one of the methods that leaders of any business would be taught the lean six sigma method. Of course it is because of the effectiveness of this technique, leaders would usually have to undergo lean six sigma training.

In a nutshell, this is a method that would aim to find out the causes of defects in products by making use of certain statistical methods that would help in this area. It also makes use of methods that would help decrease variability when it comes to operations. Of course it is because of the complex computations that one would need to make in order to spot the problems, then basic training is very important.

Now if one is a manager then he must always remember that the customer will always be the first priority when it comes to doing business. This means that the management would have to study what the customers would want and learn their definition of quality. This is simply because if they would want to please the customers, they would need to give good quality service and products.

Now basically, one of the things that one will be learning in this type of training program would be how to do Value Stream Mapping. Basically, this would involve confirming information about the customer base, making a list of steps, choosing the efficient steps, and working the whole process. This is one of the first things that one would do in this program.

Now the next part of the program would be none other than the Six Sigma method itself. Now the Six Sigma method is the method known to be able to break down the DMAIC process into a few steps. Basically, it is a technique that would try to identify the cause of wastes in production and come up with solutions.

Of course the first part of this five step process is to define the problem. This is probably the most important step because it is impossible to have a proper solution without knowledge of the main cause. Of course the next step is making an assessment of the situation.

After he has assessed the situation, then the very next step is to of course analyze the root problem. After making an analysis, then he has to try to improve the process so that the process will be able to work better for the good of the customers. Of course he has to observe consistency as he has to make sure that good quality becomes constant.

So basically, those are some basic things that he will be learning in the lean six sigma training program. This is important especially for those companies who are into manufacturing. In order for a business to stay on top, it is important that they would always find ways to please customers and create products more efficiently.
