Dissolved Oxygen Test Kit Instructions

By Helene Norris

Dissolved oxygen test kit is needed to be done and used properly to avoid the grave consequences from taking place. This is used in measuring the oxygen that is present at the water. This is usually tested whenever one needs an aquarium filled with aquamarine species. Here are some tips that have to be followed so that none will get harmed due to the rash and improper practices.

The first things that should be done is to fill the bottle with your sample water. Avoid pouring it under turbulence or it will be causing air bubbles. If that happens, you might not be able to measure the oxygen properly. Rather, just gently pour the water inside in a steady manner to avoid bubbling up.

After that, insert stopper in the vial of your sample water. Thrust it quickly so to avoid any froths to be trapped inside it. If you have seen one froth, then you may need to replace the used stopper with no froths. You should also add the sample so that the sample volume will increase. This has to be done only, and only if you see a froth inside the bottle.

After that, you will need to mix the moisture by shaking it vigorous Not violently but just vigorously so that a brownish orange color will be formed inside the bottle. When it has formed, it serves as an indication that there is the flocculent precipitate That is also an indication that the element you are measuring is present in the sample.

Wait for the floc to settle to the half of the volume of the bottle. If there is a high concentration of the halogen that is called as chlorine, then you have to wait for four to five minutes. The settlement will require waiting for minutes because of the concentration of the halogen.

After it has settled, you need to add the dissolved oxygen three reagent powder pillow. Again, do the basics that were listed in the above paragraphs. Stopper it to avoid bubbles from trapping. Shake out vigorously again. This will lead you to another indication of the presence of the element in your sample.

After shaking it, then the mixture will turn its color into yellow. And that is an indication that yet again, the oxygen is present in the sample mixture that you just had shaken. If it has not formed the yellow color, then you might have not done the instruction properly.

Shades should never be worn while you are doing this kind of process. Nor it should be worn whenever you are thinking about indicating the hue that is present in your sample. It is not going to pain your eyes most especially if you are out of contact of it.

So those are the steps that have to be taken seriously in cases like you want to measure or indicate the presence of the element that is capable for giving the air to breath to sea creatures. You need to buy dissolved oxygen test kit too. And if you have questions, you should not hesitate to ask the assistant at the store.
