Avoid The Pretty Wallpaper Of Life

By Evan Sanders

Madness exists in all real things.

If there wasn't any amount of uncertainty in this life, everything would lack depth. Without a sense of depth everything is going to be a surface level examination of what's actually going on. If you stay on the surface, you aren't going to dive into the depths of your soul and find out what you are truly made of. There's a tendency these days to completely avoid going into ourselves to discover what is possible and to stay on the surface where everything is quick and easy. While convenient, this isn't where the magic lives. The magic is in living in the place where you can take a leap of faith and build your wings on the way down.

But what if negative emotions and fear crawl in? You have to embrace them.

We live in a world that is riddled with complete chaos. Everything is going so fast that it's a miracle we are even able to keep ourselves together. But if we slow down a bit we are able to tap into all of the direction, wisdom, and security we need. How? Because when we take a moment to stop and appreciate what is going on right now in this moment we can actually see what is here vs. what's always off in the future. We can check in with ourselves and much more easily tap into our relationships with others.

Surface level foundations never work - try building a home on wallpaper.

In order to truly develop, you have to get down to the foundational level and start building from there. If you always stay at the surface level, like I've said before, you continue to play with the wallpaper before the support beams are even built. Priorities matter when you are trying to make serious changes. Keep them straight.

Give up thinking that you know everything and be constantly surpassed by what life has to offer you. Instead of presuming what the future is going to offer, let it do its thing and you will not be let down one bit. Dive into experiencing life at a foundational level and open yourself up to experiencing everything that it has to offer and you will find the true madness and excitement in all real things.

But you have to do the dirty work at the foundational level first.

So forget about the outer layers and focus on the inner layers first. Focus on building the strongest core and foundation and everything else will fall into place. Build your life on rock solid ground instead of flimsy wallpaper and everything becomes a hell of a lot easier.

Don't survive. Thrive.
