Speaking in front of a congregation can be a scary for those who do not have the courage to stand in front of a large crowd. They are scared that they will embarrass themselves or things might go wrong. Under guidance, one can become an effective public speaker. Always talk like a trailblazer. A good speaker will always convey good messages about the topic of discussion. They have knowledge that other the audience does not know about. Avoid reading written note or any written material. Even though it is difficult to speak in front of thousands, when on stage, ensure you do it in the right way. Instead of reading a script, practice the presentation so that you do not have to read from anywhere. Reading makes one sound like a robot. It makes the audience lose concentration.

Record a video of the practice, then refer to it to identify the areas to improve on. Record the practice session using a phone or a camera then play it later to see the areas that went wrong. This will help identify the areas that need improvement and in turn boost your self-confidence. It gives positive feedback that one can improve on.

Body language matters when delivering a speech. Pay careful attention to body movements. Know the best posture a narrator should maintain. Use parts of the body to put emphasis. Maintain eye contact with those you are speaking to. Use hand gestures appropriately. The body movements do portray a lot about the speaker. Therefore, pay great attention to body language. Practice in front of the mirror to be good at it.

Work on the delivery method. Many narrators have the right message, but cannot pass it across due to poor body posture and movement. Body movement and posture matters when it comes to delivery. Look into the listeners eyes instead of always glancing at the notes or in another direction. Maintaining eye contact is very important. In addition, practice talking about the topic of discussion that you are about to talk about. Those with fear of speaking in front of people forget what they had memorized. The secret to having content to talk about is practicing way before you deliver the lecture or speech.

Telling jokes is not necessary. Most people try to copy others instead of being unique. They think the way to make the crowd excited is to make jokes. At times, it is not necessary. You do not have to be a comedian. Try to be as unique as possible and people will love the presentation.

Do not be afraid of speaking in public. Every great narrator was once scared but through coaching and practice, they become experts at it. Practice every day and latter it will not be a problem. Keep in mind the tips above to make sure that there is an improvement in all key areas.
