Putting puzzles together is a great way to challenge the individual. Start will really simple pieces at first. Once you know what types of puzzles they like and the age level they are on, you can then purchase the puzzles accordingly. Young children might also be interest in Legos. You can also purchase them on different age levels as well. Both activities are great to challenge young minds, and even older minds.

Art & Crafts is a wonderful idea to help individuals express themselves. Most people love to draw, paint and just see their ideas put down on paper. They can also learn to build crafty items in class or just put things together to make one object. There are many classes that are taught during the summer and just about any other time of the year for people of all ages.

Hiking and walking nature trails are fun to get outside. Most people love the outdoors but get tired of doing the same thing every day. Make it creative by taking a group of people for a hike to collect different items. When they return they can do a show and tell, or create a short book about the items they collected.

Strawberry picking is a lot of fun as well. Children can pick strawberries, clean and eat them. It is a great experience for those who enjoy being outside in the garden. You can also do the same with cucumbers, tomatoes and other vegetables or fruits. Children also love picking apples that have fallen from an apple tree. You can then teach them how to make applesauce.

Well, bring the past back and grab a few game boards. It is a great way to spend time with your child, and talking to them about the things going on in their live. Time to get children away from so many video games.

Go hiking and collecting rocks and different types of leaves. Children enjoy getting outside and being one with nature. Take them on trips outdoors to collect different types of rocks and leaves. Allow them then to come back and make collages of the leaves and do a show and tell with the rocks.

Fishing is very fun and serene for those who have special needs. It provides a great chance to allow individuals to get outside and enjoy the environment. For people who never have been fishing it might take a bit getting used to but for the most part they will definitely enjoy it. It is a wonderful chance for people to get out and interact with one another and learn about different types of fish.
