The Advantages Of Teacher Created Resources

By Young Lindsay

When the exam time is around the corner, over 60 percent of students always wonder what the best materials to use for their revisions are. A larger percentage of the students always end up using textbooks rather than teacher created resources, making it quite difficult for them to find accurate details that can help them pass their continuous assessment tests and examinations. While textbooks are good study materials, they are not so much useful when you are preparing for your tests and end of semester exams.

The materials provided are shortened, thus precise and direct to the point. Reading handouts is one thing and reading textbooks is another. Handouts given by teachers are a shortened version of what is available in the syllabus textbooks, and they are given to students to not only speed up their revision process but also give them the main details they really need to perform well in their academic life.

The number one reason why you want to use the material provided by your teacher instead of textbooks is because they are a simplified version of what is covered in the syllabus textbook that you are supposed to read. Usually, the instructor spends some time going through the main syllabus and then notes down the most important information that is relevant to your studies during the semester. The simplified information is just good enough to help you pass your exam, making it for you to pass your test.

They are always the best for revision. Serious students know that short notes are always the best for revision. However, most student still waste their time reading printed books to study for their examinations forgetting that they have little time left to the main exam.

The best thing to do at such a time is to find notes that have clearly outlined points or details that you need for your examination. Any handout resource provided by you instructor will help you a great deal in passing your examination or the test announced. Usually, the handout has everything you need to know to pass your exams and reading through them prior to the test is a sure way to pass your exams or test with ease.

They are the best material for personal studies. If you are the type that do not understand the content in the textbook no matter how many times you read them, the handouts provided by your instructor are the best to use for learning. They not only help you to learn fast but also help you get the same concepts as you would if you were to read textbooks.

The resources provided by your instructor take less time to go through than the time it takes to read a textbook. For instance, if a unit is about 10 pages in total, you instructor is likely to summarize it to a total of 5 pages or less, making it easy for you to study.

Effective use of these resources can make your academic life smooth. Your concern should be to get the main concepts first before going to details. It should not be the other way round.
