Online High School Courses Ontario

By Sally Delacruz

Everything is changing and evolving with time. From the way we dress to the way we live and the mode of communication. Most of these changes being brought about by technology. It is a change that most schools especially high schools have decided to introduce elearning. Online high school courses Ontario have gained popularity worldwide since their government, through the ministry of education, decided on introducing it to most of their institution.

Distance learning is flexible and students get to learn at their own pace at their own preferred time. The ministry of education has partnered with e learning in Ontario so that they can provide a wide range of courses to their students anywhere.

In distance learning unlike classroom learning, the learners do not need to have their note books and pen, all they need is to open a portal where they can access all their school notes, assignments, announcements, time table, exams and get their results there. The teachers too have to open their own portals where they can send assignments, mark them and record the performances of the learners.

The students and teachers have to open a portal where they can access their courses and assignments, notes, announcements and even get their results. Like the normal traditional class they are given a deadline on when to submit their assignments and exams. The students can ask their teachers questions through email just as if they were in class.

The Ontario learning portal has gained popularity in that there are more than 30,000 visit in a day some of them being students and people interested in joining this system. It is also cheaper and easier way of learning that is why many schools offer distant learning at competitive prices to encourage people.

The benefits of studying online are as follows; it becomes convenient to people who live far but wish to join a certain institution, they can be part of that school without having to move from where they reside. It is time cautious since one can research from one site to the other unlike going to the library to do research.

Another benefit is that it is cheaper; students get to save in terms of accommodation and transport. The learning materials are always available when it comes to this kind of learning. Distance learning in high schools is a stepping stone to the university method of learning.

The limitations of distance learning are; it is required that each and every student has a computer, which some may not be able to afford. The students easily divert their attentions doing other things since there is no teacher to supervise their studies. It gets easy for them to cheat during exams by copying or allowing someone else to take the exams for them. There has to be electrical power throughout for the student to study.
